International document use
Start with where your document is going.
Tell us the country where your FBI background check will be used. We determine the appropriate certification process and handle the federal steps for you.

Apostille or authentication
The destination country determines the certification
Your completed FBI background check may receive either an apostille or a federal authentication, depending on the country where it will be used.
From the customer’s perspective, the process is simple: tell us the destination country and we determine which federal certification is required.
For some non-Hague countries, the completed federal authentication may also need additional certification through that country’s embassy or consulate. If that applies to your destination, we will let you know.
Common reasons customers need this service
People often need an FBI background check for immigration, visas, residency, employment, licensing, adoption, education, or other international requirements.
Not sure what your destination requires? That’s okay.
Tell us where the document is going and we will help identify the appropriate process.
