Translation support

When the destination requires another language, keep the process together.

Translation needs depend on the country and the receiving organization. We help you understand when it belongs in your document plan.

Plan before you order

Ask what must be translated.

Some receiving organizations ask for a translation of the FBI Identity History Summary, while others have their own requirements about the apostille, format, certification, or timing.

  • Confirm the required language
  • Confirm which documents require translation
  • Ask whether the receiving organization has a preferred format

Keep the destination in view

A translation request should be based on what the receiving authority asks for. Do not assume a translation is required just because the destination is outside the United States, and do not assume a translation alone replaces an apostille.

One coordinated plan

When translation is needed, it can be planned alongside the federal apostille service so your documents are prepared with the same destination requirements in mind.
