An FBI Identity History Summary is a federal record. When it needs to be accepted in a Hague Convention country, it may need a federal apostille. This is different from a state apostille for state-issued records such as birth certificates or local police reports.
Confirm the country and receiving organization’s document requirements, including how recent the report must be and whether a translation is needed. Requirements can vary by application.
Estimated expedited service processing time is approximately 14 business days. This is an estimate and is not guaranteed. Timing does not include weekends, federal holidays, Fridays when the U.S. Department of State is closed, or FedEx return-delivery time.
Allow approximately 3+ additional days for hard-copy return delivery by FedEx.
FedEx delivery to any U.S. address is $30.
International FedEx shipping is charged at the actual FedEx rate. The customer’s complete delivery address is required in order to provide an international shipping quote.
Review the safe order guidance before sending any sensitive FBI document.
